We are seeking a skilled General Maintenance Engineer to support the day-to-day maintenance and upkeep of a manufacturing facility. This role requires a hands-on, multi-skilled engineer with a strong background in joinery and building maintenance, alongside practical electrical and mechanical capability. The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring the site, plant, and infrastructure remain safe, efficient, and fit for purpose. Key Responsibilities Carry out a wide range of joinery and carpentry tasks, including repairs, modifications, and installation of fixtures, fittings, doors, workstations, and structural timber elements Manufacture and install bespoke wooden components to support production, storage, and site improvements Maintain and repair wooden structures, flooring, partitions, and furniture across the facility Interpret basic drawings and measurements to produce accurate joinery solutions Undertake basic mechanical maintenance on plant, equipment, and site services Carry out first-line electrical work, including fault finding, minor repairs, and component replacement (within competency and regulations) Support planned preventative maintenance (PPM) activities across the site Assist with breakdown response to minimise downtime Maintain building fabric including walls, doors, ceilings, and external areas Skills & Experience Proven experience in a general maintenance or multi-skilled engineer role within a manufacturing or industrial environment Strong joinery / carpentry background with hands-on experience Practical knowledge of mechanical and basic electrical systems Ability to work independently and manage a varied workload Strong problem-solving skills and a proactive, can-do approach Relevant trade qualification (Joinery, Carpentry, Mechanical, or Electrical) Manufacturing or factory environment experience
