The friendly and well-established pharmacy team is part of the health board, with a focus on the best interests of our patients and continuous service improvement. Applicants will be required to participate in the weekend and bank holiday rota.
Main duties of the job
1. Supervise and support the regular pharmacy staff, including dispensing ATOs and PRPTs, and undertake final accuracy checks and release of prescriptions as an ACPT, prioritizing workload to ensure urgent items are processed promptly.
2. Perform dispensing duties, including validation and dispensing of medicines for inpatients, day-patients, outpatients, and discharged patients, following SOPs and labelling standards. Suggest and implement improvements as identified.
3. Provide medicines management services, including medicines reconciliation, by collecting information from various sources such as medical notes, GP letters, discharge prescriptions, and medication histories. Contact GPs and community pharmacists as necessary, and monitor clinical test results where appropriate.
