***This is a contract until the end of 2026 initially***
Role overview
The Offshore Electrical Engineer (Projects) supports the design, delivery and installation of electrical systems across a portfolio of offshore projects. The role ensures electrical systems are engineered and executed to meet project objectives in safety, operability, reliability and cost-efficiency.
Working within the Discipline Engineering team, the role interfaces closely with cross-discipline engineers, project delivery teams, EPC contractors, suppliers and asset teams to deliver robust electrical solutions from concept selection through detailed design, execution and into operations.
A strong focus is placed on offshore environments and associated infrastructure systems, ensuring safe and efficient project delivery.
Key tasks / responsibilities
Front-end Systems Engineering & Design
• Develop electrical system architectures for offshore facilities (platforms, subsea systems, and associated infrastructure).
• Provide electrical discipline input into concept selection and FEED studies.
• Define functional requirements and design constraints; contribute to Basis of Design documentation.
• Participate in and contribute to design reviews (HAZID, E-HAZOP, LOPA, design assurance).
• Ensure alignment with project requirements, industry standards, and operational needs.
Project Delivery
• Provide electrical engineering support across all project phases:
• FEED, detailed design, procurement, manufacturing, FAT, SAT, installation and commissioning.
• Prepare scopes of work and technical specifications for suppliers and engineering contractors.
• Review and assure contractor deliverables for compliance, quality and technical integrity.
• Support offshore installation and commissioning activities, including site visits where required.
• Assist in risk management, troubleshooting and resolution of technical issues during commissioning and execution.
• Support contract management activities, including technical clarifications and change management.
Offshore Systems & Integration
• Ensure effective integration of electrical systems with offshore assets and interfaces (process, control, subsea, topsides).
• Support power system studies and analysis (load flow, short circuit, protection coordination, etc.).
• Ensure safe integration with hazardous area requirements (ATEX / IECEx compliance).
• Support reliability, availability, and maintainability (RAM) assessments where required
Safety, Assurance & Compliance
• Ensure compliance with internal engineering standards, industry standards (e.g., IEC, DNV) and regulatory requirements.
• Collaborate with third-party verification bodies.
• Champion safety-by-design and ensure inherent safety principles are embedded in all designs.
• Contribute to technical assurance processes and project reviews.
• Promote continuous improvement and lessons learned across projects.
