Business Development Manager – Renewable Connections
We’re looking for an experienced Business Development Manager to support and grow relationships within the non-regulated electricity market, with a primary focus on renewable connections. You’ll help retain existing client relationships while developing new clients and revenue streams across ICP, IDNO, and renewable generation markets.
Key Responsibilities
* Support and develop strategic relationships with existing clients and targeted new customers.
* Research, analyse, and present market intelligence focused on renewable connections, ICP works, and balance of plant opportunities.
* Build detailed knowledge of client investment pipelines, challenges, and competitor activity.
* Prepare and manage strategic client plans aligned to agreed business targets.
* Maintain accurate opportunity tracking and client data within Salesforce CRM.
* Map key stakeholders and decision-makers and build strong relationships at all levels.
* Lead client engagement through meetings, workshops, procurement events, and presentations.
* Support the bid team on key opportunities, including win themes, bid strategy, technical accuracy, and governance compliance.
* Contribute to pre-qualifications, re-tenders, bid writing, and bid reviews as required.
* Represent the business at industry events, seminars, and conferences.
* Work collaboratively across the Energy Division and wider group to share best practice and identify growth opportunities.
Skills & Experience
* Strong knowledge of the UK electricity sector, particularly the non-regulated market.
* Experience within ICP, IDNO, renewable connections, or related infrastructure markets.
* Good technical understanding of electricity networks (desirable).
* Proven experience in account development, bid support, or work-winning.
* Familiarity with Salesforce CRM or similar systems.
* Confident client-facing communicator with strong presentation and relationship management skills.
* Experience supporting or leading multi-million-pound engineering or infrastructure bids.
* Highly organised, deadline-driven, and comfortable managing multiple opportunities.
* Willingness to travel nationwide with a full UK driving licence.

Salary: £75 - £85,000 + Bonus
