Are you a Civil Engineer with a strong background in design and construction support, looking to play a pivotal role in one of the UK's most ambitious infrastructure projects?\nCivil Engineer (Review & Acceptance) - Nuclear New Build\nLocation: Hinkley Point C (minimum 3 days on-site) + Hybrid Working\nContract Type: 18m contract\nDaily rate: £420 - £470 per day worked (inclusive of travel and accomdoation)\nStart Date: ASAP\nSpencer Ogden on behalf of our client, a major player in the UK nuclear sector, is seeking an experienced Civil Engineer (R&A) to join the team at Hinkley Point C, the UK's flagship nuclear new build project. You'll be working as part of the Joint Design Office (JDO), ensuring all construction-driven design changes are technically sound, safely implemented, and aligned with quality and regulatory requirements.\n________________________________________\n? The Role\nAs Civil Engineer (R&A), you will:\n• \tLead the review and acceptance of design changes on-site raised via RFIs, FCRs, or NCRs.\n• \tAct as the technical interface between the construction contractors and design teams.\n• \tSupport the release and handover of design packages for construction.\n• \tEnsure changes maintain the golden thread to the nuclear safety case.\n• \tContribute to the configuration control of the site's civil and structural elements.\n• \tParticipate in readiness reviews and provide ongoing technical assurance during execution.\nEssential:\n• \tDegree-qualified in Civil or Structural Engineering.\n• \tSound working knowledge of Eurocode 2 and reinforced concrete design.\n• \tExperience with change management in a construction environment (e.g.
NCR, FCR, RFI).\n• \tStrong understanding of UK CDM Regulations and construction safety protocols.\n• \tAbility to manage technical documentation and quality processes in a highly regulated environment.\nDesirable:\n• \tPrior nuclear industry experience or familiarity with PWR technology.\n• \tChartered or working toward Chartered Engineer status (ICE or IStructE).\n• \tKnowledge of safety case architecture, Intelligent Customer role, and contract management.\n• \tFamiliarity with Joint Design Office (JDO) procedures and ETC-C tools.\nWhat's On Offer\n• \tOpportunity to work on one of Europe's largest and most complex energy projects.\n• \tLong-term role with career development opportunities.\n• \tFlexible working arrangements (hybrid model - min. 3 days on-site).
