The Area Operations Manager (AOM) South Canterbury is a senior leadership role and member of the District Lead Team. The key focus is strategic oversight, ownership of key stakeholder relationships, and management of people leaders. The AOM provides tactical leadership to the people leaders in the district, leading and planning EAS response performance in line with the National Ambulance Strategy.
The AOM role includes limited personal use of a marked, response capable vehicle

We are looking for an experienced manager, with proven ability to lead leaders and drive operational excellence, ensuring the team delivers the best possible outcome for patients. Your focus will be on operational detail and delivering on the strategy. Along with proven experience at a tactical management level, the key skills include strong people leadership, relationship management, developing partnerships, and an understanding of clinical matters and in-depth knowledge of the challenges facing health and social care.
We seek a leader with innovative thinking and the ability to turn ideas into effective operational and performance plans. Experience managing volunteers and building relationships with communities, including iwi, hapū, and whānau, is preferred. Additionally, a leader who supports Hato Hone St John’s commitments under Te Tiriti o Waitangi and emphasizes improving Māori health equity.
