Salary: £45,000 £47,500 per year
Hours: Monday to Friday - Rotating shift pattern: 6am-2.30pm, 8am-4.30pm and 9am-5.30pm (1 in 5 - Paid at 1.25x or time back in lieu)

Were looking for a skilled and proactive Maintenance Engineer (electrically biased) to join a busy renewable energy processing site. This position plays a vital part in ensuring the smooth and reliable running of plant equipment used to convert food waste into green energy.
You'll be joining a supportive engineering team responsible for maintaining site machinery, improving equipment reliability, and ensuring safe, efficient day today operations. This role suits someone who enjoys hands on engineering, problem solving, and working across a varied and fast moving environment.
As part of the engineering team, you will carry out planned and reactive maintenance across mechanical and electrical systems on site. You will help keep critical processing equipment operating safely and efficiently, support improvements, and assist with monitoring plant performance through SCADA and process data.
This is a role where no two days are the same breakdown response, inspections, project tasks, contractor supervision, and troubleshooting will all be part of your regular workload. You'll also take part in an on call rota to provide out of hours support.
Key Responsibilities:
Carry out maintenance, repairs, and installations on mechanical and electrical equipment
Perform routine inspections, testing, and fault diagnosis
Complete all planned maintenance tasks, logging actions accurately on the maintenance system
Respond quickly to equipment breakdowns and update followup records
Support the scheduling and organisation of engineering works
Order parts, liaise with suppliers, and maintain adequate stock levels
Work from engineering drawings, ensuring work meets required standards
Supervise contractors and ensure safe working practices are followed
Assist with project work and site improvements
Use SCADA and plant data to monitor performance and highlight issues
Adhere to all site procedures and contribute to a safe working culture
What Were Looking For in this Maintenance Engineer Role:
Essential:
Level 3 qualification in engineering (electrical discipline preferred)
18th Edition
At least 1 years experience in a similar maintenance or engineering role
Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings
Experience using a maintenance management system
Confident supervising contractors and working within permit to work systems
Comfortable working at height and across varied site areas
Strong communication skills and the ability to prioritise workloads
Full UK driving licence or ability to travel between sites
Desirable:
Telehandler, Forklift or MEWP certification
Welding or fabrication experience
