Due to ongoing growth and expansion, there is an opportunity for a Plant Physiology Scientist to join the team on a full-time, permanent basis.
We’re looking for an individual passionate about plant physiology, with a solid track record in molecular biology, data analysis, and experimental design. As part of the validation process, you will develop unique screening methods for the pipeline and identify solutions by analysing complex datasets. Responsibilities:
* Develop and optimise methods to characterise gene-edited crops in controlled environments and field settings
* Collaborate with scientists, agronomists, and team members to understand research goals and provide data-driven recommendations
* Analyse complex datasets from various sources to draw actionable conclusions and guide optimisation efforts
* Integrate plant physiological and genetic knowledge to improve crop traits
* Collect, clean, and organise data, extracting meaningful insights
* Present data and reports to management
* Stay current with emerging analytical tools and propose improvements
* Train and mentor less experienced team members
Qualifications:
* A PhD in Plant Biology or similar with at least 3 years of relevant experience
* Deep understanding of plant physiology, especially photosynthesis
* Proven track record in developing crop performance study methods, preferably for major crops like soy, wheat, or maize
* Hands-on experience with statistical analysis and data visualisation tools such as R, Python, or SAS
* Experience with field trial design and analysis
* Ability to translate complex data into clear recommendations for non-technical stakeholders
* Excellent team player with the ability to work independently
