Job Description
We are currently seeking a Senior/Principal Civil-Structural Engineer to join the Decommissioning & Waste Services (DWS) market within our Nuclear & Power business. Ideally based in Northwest England, but other UK locations can be considered.
You will work on projects focused on delivering engineering and waste management solutions for clients in the Nuclear Decommissioning sector, with some projects across other stages of the nuclear lifecycle. These projects involve varied engineering, nuclear, and safety challenges, requiring proactive, multi-skilled teams working collaboratively to deliver high-quality solutions.
We invest continuously in our people, technology, and facilities to strengthen our capabilities and develop new ones. We utilize innovative techniques, including advanced technology solutions and robotics, to demonstrate our solutions through active demonstrators.
The Role:
You will join an existing civil/structural team, responsible for delivering complex design packages for key nuclear clients. You will oversee and develop current engineers and collaborate with other engineering disciplines.
This role involves taking a senior position on projects or demonstrating the ability to lead civil/structural design efforts with minimal oversight.
The Individual:
* Ability to manage and motivate a team, demonstrating strong leadership qualities.
* Self-motivated, able to work independently and within a larger multidisciplinary team.
* Excellent collaboration skills with colleagues across the market and wider business.
* Experience and expertise in engineering design and substantiation, including first principles analysis, with knowledge of UK and international design codes and regulations. Experience in the nuclear sector is preferred but not required.
* Incorporated Engineer or working towards chartership with recognized institutions such as ICE or IStructE, with a minimum engineering degree qualification.
How will you contribute to the team?
* Encourage innovation and experimentation, creating an environment for new ideas and growth.
* Improve processes and methods for greater efficiency.
* Work closely with colleagues within the DWS engineering group and the wider business.
