Job Description:
We currently have an exciting opportunity for a Water Production Technical Manager to join the West Thames Valley Water Production Team. The role involves managing risk, ensuring regulatory compliance (DWI and EA), overseeing a large capital budget, and leading the technical support team to deliver process compliance, efficiency, and project optimization across the West Thames Valley area, including Latton WTW, Farmoor WTW, and Cleeve WTW. The position also requires participation in an out-of-hours rota, with additional payments, and the candidate must possess a full UK driving license and a vehicle.
Responsibilities include:
* Stakeholder engagement and preparation/review of Site Operating Manuals.
* Potential to stand in for the Area Operations Manager.
* Managing team performance, development, and succession planning.
* Ensuring process assurance and regulatory compliance.
* Providing technical operational support and participating in regional forums.
* Managing risks, asset planning, and investment requirements.
* Leading project delivery and optimization initiatives.
* Controlling budgets and supporting business planning.
* Completing Water Production (MOWP) training.
Qualifications and Skills:
* Strong leadership, capability, and vision.
* NEBOSH/IOSH qualification with practical application in safety.
* Experience in water or wastewater process operations (training provided for suitable candidates).
* Excellent communication, influencing, and problem-solving skills.
* Ability to meet operational targets and demonstrate Thames Water’s values.
* Experience in project delivery or asset management is advantageous.
* Proficiency in writing business cases and risk notes.
