About the Hotel
The Bracken Hide - Portree, Isle of Skye
A unique four-star wilderness hotel set on 52 acres of land just west of Portree, The Bracken Hide is designed to immerse guests in nature without compromising on comfort. Scandi-style cabins offer a balance of simplicity and luxury, while the main lodge houses Am Braigh Restaurant, serving menus inspired by Skye's land and sea. Guests can relax in The Snug, our whisky and cocktail bar, or unwind in the Wilderness Spa, complete with sauna and plunge pool - the perfect retreat after a day exploring the island.
Key Responsibilities
Welcome and seat guests, ensuring they feel comfortable and cared for from the start.
Take accurate orders and serve food with warmth, professionalism, and efficiency.
Confidently promote and upsell menu items, including daily specials, desserts, and drinks.
Share knowledge and passion for food and wine, including recommending pairings to enhance guest experiences.
Support smooth-running service by coordinating with the kitchen and ensuring timely delivery of dishes.
Maintain immaculate restaurant presentation, ensuring tables, cutlery, and service areas are always guest-ready.
Handle guest requests and feedback with confidence and care.
Uphold all health, safety, and food hygiene standards.
What We're Looking For
A genuine love of food, dining, and hospitality, a true restaurant enthusiast.
Previous restaurant or hospitality experience is a plus, but not essential, we'll provide full training.
An interest in wine and food pairings, with confidence in recommending specials and upselling.
Strong communication skills and a friendly, guest-focused approach.
Attention to detail and pride in delivering memorable dining experiences.
A positive, reliable team player with energy and enthusiasm.
