Location: BP Rolls, Newport, Wales
Hours: Full-time, Monday to Friday
Contract Type: Apprenticeship (approx. 3 years)
Start Date: September 2025
Salary: Apprenticeship wage in line with Government guidelines.

This is a dual learning opportunity, combining:
* On-the-job training in our busy Newport Depot
* Off-the-job training at college (usually on a block release basis), leading to a Level 3 Vehicle Damage Panel Technician Apprenticeship
To succeed, you must be fully committed to both parts of the apprenticeship. That means:
* Attending all college sessions and meeting coursework deadlines
* Staying engaged and proactive in the workshop, learning from your mentor and experienced technicians
* Applying your college learning to real-world repairs
* Managing your time and responsibilities effectively
What You’ll Learn
You will gain the skills and knowledge needed to become a fully qualified Panel Beater specialising in commercial vehicles.
This includes:
* Assessing and repairing damaged vehicle bodywork, panels, and frames
* Removing and refitting panels using specialist tools and techniques
* Working with steel, aluminium, plastic, and composite materials
* Restoring large commercial vehicles to pre-accident condition
* Following manufacturer repair methods and safety procedures
* Understanding commercial vehicle design and structural integrity
Who We’re Looking For
We’re looking for a school leaver who is:
* Genuinely interested in vehicles, especially vans, trucks, and HGVs
* Practical, hands-on, and mechanically minded
* Committed to both college education and workplace training
* Reliable, punctual, and willing to learn
* A good communicator and team player
* GCSEs (or equivalent) in English and Maths (Grade 4/C or above preferred)
* Aged 16+ and no longer in full-time education
* Willing to commit to a full apprenticeship programme over 2-3 years
