The Role As a Management Accountant, you will play a pivotal role in overseeing the financial operations of the business while managing and mentoring a team of 8. Reporting directly to senior leadership, you'll produce and present financial insights that will shape the future strategy of the business. Key responsibilities include: Team Management: Guide, support, and develop an 8-person finance team to ensure high performance and engagement. Monthly Management Accounts: Prepare accurate and timely management accounts, including monthly journal postings (accruals, prepayments, depreciation). Cash Management & Reporting: Post daily cash transactions, complete reconciliations, and issue weekly cash flow updates. Rebate Oversight: Monitor rebate accounts to ensure payments are accurate and timely. Financial Performance Analysis: Track financial results against budget, identify variances, and partner with depot managers to make data-driven decisions. Fixed Asset Register: Maintain up-to-date records of company assets. Year-End Close: Prepare financial statements, liaise with auditors, and ensure compliance with accounting standards. Sales Data Analysis: Review sales data, identify trends, and account for potential liabilities. Your Profile We are looking for a sharp-minded, detail-oriented individual with a passion for leadership and financial analysis. The ideal Management Accountant will have: Qualifications: Part-qualified in CIMA/ACCA, or equivalent. Management Experience: Prior experience managing or guiding a team within a finance setting is essential. Excel Mastery: Advanced skills in Excel, including dashboards, reporting, and data visualisation. Analytical Mindset: Strong organisational skills, the ability to multi-task, and a focus on achieving results. Communication Skills: An exceptional communicator with the ability to present data effectively to various stakeholders. Proactive Attitude: Self-motivated with a positive, can-do attitude and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
