This exciting and hands-on role is based on-site at our scenic warehouse, where you will be responsible for creating high-quality scenic elements, liaising with various departments, and ensuring that all builds meet the highest standards of craftsmanship.
Main Duties:
Construct scenic elements and set pieces to a high standard, ensuring accuracy, quality, and adherence to project specifications and deadlines.
Prioritise and manage incoming builds efficiently, maintaining clear communication with the Workshop Manager and Production team.
Proactively contribute to the smooth operation of the Workshop, identifying potential issues and proposing practical solutions.
Maintain a safe, organised, and secure Workshop environment, ensuring all tools and machinery are used correctly and stored appropriately.
Conduct and document regular equipment checks.
Oversee and maintain forklift truck logs and paperwork (where applicable).
Support on-site installations and de-rigs as required, particularly on complex or large-scale builds.
Assist with loading and unloading vehicles safely and efficiently.
Fabricate bespoke scenic components, including timber frames and complete surface finishes such as painting, covering, and dressing with materials (e.g., felt, PVC, canvas).
Perform repairs and maintenance on existing set pieces to ensure they remain in good working condition.
Report any faults, damages, or safety issues with tools or equipment immediately to management.
Be available for overtime and flexible working hours when required to meet production schedules.
