We're looking for a hands-on, motivated individual to support our team as a Trainee Fitter’s Mate. This is a great opportunity to develop specialist skills in a thriving industry with full training and development provided.
Key Responsibilities:
Assist in the installation and maintenance of industrial doors, shutters, dock levellers, and loading bay equipment
Support lead engineers on-site with tools, materials, and technical tasks
Work across varied industrial and commercial environments
Learn and develop new technical skills in mechanical, electrical, welding, and hydraulic systems
Essential Skills & Requirements:
Full clean UK driving licence (applications without this will not be considered)
Hands-on technical aptitude and a genuine interest in engineering
Willingness to commit to a structured personal development programme
Comfortable working in confined spaces and at heights
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Strong awareness and adherence to health & safety practices
Willing to work flexible hours, including weekends and overtime (all paid at premium rates)
Desired (but not essential):
Previous experience in a similar or transferable sector (garage doors, roller shutters, mechanical fitting, construction)
CSCS card
Experience in a construction or site-based environment
