AD Energy are currently recruiting for an Commissioning/Service engineer who is experienced within electrical and mechanical equipment optimisation and commissioning/installation, ideally for someone who also possesses some software skills for integration of software into customer sites. This is a customer focused opportunity within a growing business. The position will involve onsite work in Worcester and visiting world class customer sites for commissioning, focused within the automotive sector. Training will be provided for someone with good hands on skills and some commissioning experience.
Responsibilities:
* Ability to read and understand complex electrical and mechanical drawings
* Good understanding of engine and component testing theory (good to have)
* Ability to understand systems from documentation only
* Ability to define a system outline from customer requirements
* Delivery of control system applications, with focus on but not limited to:
o Timing
o Technical Requirements of both the Client and business
o Cost against budget
o Changes to specification and the implications to the cost
o Risk assessment
o Customer liaising
* Reporting of relevant project progress – Engineering, Manufacture, Delivery, Installation, Commissioning & Handover
* Capture of additional requirements, labour and materials
* Ability to produce appropriate technical documentation (Drawings, Calibration Certs, etc)
* Understanding of Software Development Lifecycles.
* Experience of MS Visual Studio.
* Experience of Microsoft Operating systems XP, 7, 10 with the ability to install and setup hardware\drivers and software packages. Experience of MS Visual studio.
* Knowledge of Ethernet networking and protocols.
* Understanding of how control systems interact with physical systems.
* Identify & solve problems efficiently and under pressure to support an evolving product range.
* Provide training and support to colleagues & customers
* Good understanding C#/SQL and programming skills (good to have)
* Ability to specify and liaise on the procurement of assemblies and components
* Support of existing hardware and software platforms including offering customer support via telephone or with site visits.
* Competent PC user, comfortable with all standard Office software packages.
* Maintenance and development of departmental documentation and systems
* On site installation, commissioning, and calibration of company products.
* Reporting to the Line Manager and finally Directors.
* This role will involve UK travel, site work and may involve working away from home and some overseas travel
