We’re partnering with a leading UK engineering and technology manufacturer to find a talented Procurement Specialist, initially on a Fixed Term Contract basis to join their growing team in Corby, Northamptonshire. This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a forward-thinking organisation and you will play a key role in ensuring the smooth and cost-effective sourcing of components and materials that drive exceptional product quality. About the Role As Procurement Specialist, you’ll oversee all aspects of supplier sourcing, negotiation, and relationship management for manufactured components. Working closely with the design, production, and operations teams, you’ll ensure all parts are delivered to specification, on time, and within budget. You’ll also contribute to new product introduction (NPI) projects, drive supplier performance improvements, and play an active role in continuous improvement initiatives across the procurement function. Key Responsibilities Source and evaluate suppliers of manufactured components to ensure quality, cost, and delivery standards are met. Manage the end-to-end purchasing process — from RFQs and quotations to order placement and delivery tracking. Build and maintain strong, collaborative supplier relationships. Partner with design, R&D, and operations teams to align procurement activities with project timelines. Conduct supplier audits and drive performance improvements through structured feedback and collaboration. Review supplier product designs and processes to ensure compliance with quality and manufacturing standards. Maintain accurate records of requirements, correspondence, and purchase documentation. Support innovation, co-design, and continuous improvement initiatives across the supply chain. What You’ll Bring Proven experience in manufacturing procurement, ideally within engineering or component purchasing. Strong commercial and negotiation skills with a focus on value, quality, and reliability. Technical understanding of manufacturing and engineering processes. Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills across all levels. Competent IT skills — experience with SAP Business One is desirable. Highly organised, detail-oriented, and proactive approach. Willingness to travel within the UK to develop and maintain supplier relationships.
