Overview
We have an exciting and rare fixed term Occupational Therapist position in our North Locality; New Horsefair Clinic, Wisbech. We are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated Occupational Therapist to join our team and help us make a real difference in children and young people’s lives. The post offers regular supervision, mentorship, and training under the preceptorship programme to support development within children’s services.
Our service combines health and social care roles in a fully integrated OT service. The role is community-based and will involve working at your clinic base, local special schools, family homes, mainstream schools, and local pre-school settings. Children seen will have a range of disabilities and developmental delays aged 0–19 years old.
The post-holder will maintain strong links and, at times, work alongside specialist housing teams within a multi-disciplinary OT approach to support housing adaptations for children and families.
Responsibilities
* Provide an integrated Occupational Therapy service to children and young people and their families, crossing traditional health and social care boundaries.
* Promote close, effective working relationships with Cambridgeshire County Council, schools, and other members of the health multi-disciplinary team.
* Manage your own caseload and, when appropriate, supervise Therapy Assistants and/or students within your team.
* Demonstrate professional development through continuing professional development (CPD) and increasing autonomy as you progress through competencies.
* Participate in regular supervision, mentorship, and training under the preceptorship programme.
* Work across clinic bases, schools, homes, and community settings to support children with disabilities and developmental delays.
Qualifications and Requirements
* Ability to obtain Enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) clearance (post involves working with children).
