Hello! We are Crafty Counsel, a community for in-house legal professionals, whose mission is to bring them joy, insight, and connection. Events are core to that mission, including Crafty Fest, the largest event for in-house legal in the UK (approximately 850 attendees), plus several other conferences, and smaller breakfast/dinner events throughout the year which include fireside chats and other content. Crafty Fest placed third for UK Conference of the Year (600-1000 delegates) at The Conference Awards this year (our first year of entry).
Typical Community feedback: “ The best conference we've attended this year! It's such a friendly, welcoming community where genuine connections can be built without the usual networking awkwardness. Unlike most other in-house legal conferences, the topics covered are hyper relevant to my sector and our legal team ”.
Away from the events, Crafty Counsel is a true Community, with an active online hub where our members trade vendor recommendations, career opportunities, and general moral support. An affiliated network of Community volunteers run “Crafty Locals” (i.e. small scale meetups) in towns and cities across the UK and beyond.
Still a startup, we’re a team of 11 full time employees with up to two (in addition to you) planned to join by the end of 2025. We also work with an active and supportive network of freelance talent, plus Community volunteers, investors, and advisers.
We are on track to grow fast and profitably in 2025, with more exciting growth to come in 2026.
About you
You’re an event content producer (or, similar live event-focused or conference production role) with 2-3 years of experience looking to step into a role that marries operational event support with creative content curation. The legal sector may be new to you, but you’re interested and keen to learn fast. In this case, we’d be testing your interest in the legal sector - but, able to support you to get up to speed quickly. Equally, also great if you happen to be a legal sector subject matter expert already.

* Occasionally, meetings with sponsors to discuss pitches, content, and answer any questions for assigned events

Skills / experience

We are looking for someone for whom these values resonate, and someone who can add to our strong team culture.
Being practical for a minute…
If you’re the person for this role, please let us know by sending a CV and covering letter to hello@craftycounsel.co.uk .
We work in a hybrid work environment where our centre of gravity is central London. What this means is:
* First business day of the week: all team works together in person.
* Rest of the week: each team decides its own pattern, by business need.
* In this role, you should expect to regularly work at least one other day in person in the office. We’ve found that getting in a room together is sometimes the most effective way to progress agendas and planning for larger events.
* You will be required to attend all conferences in person, which may involve some evening work.
* Think of it as a very flexible and humane model but where you need to be able to (and want to!) get into London frequently.
* Our office is in Runway East Bloomsbury (Holborn / Tottenham Court Road).
You can also work fully remotely up to four weeks a year, usually when we are not holding events.
Once a year, we travel for an overnight stay in a UK location for a team offsite. So far, we’ve been to York, Oxford, Brighton, and St Albans.
We currently believe this is a five day a week full time but are open to discussing part time alternatives for at least three days a week (Mondays are a must).
* Salary: up to £40,000 gross, experience dependent
* Benefits include
* £500 annual budget for learning and development, conferences, memberships, anything that is professionally useful to you
* £250 - annual work from home grant to spend on office equipment (that will be yours to keep) above and beyond the laptop we provide you
* 25 days of holiday plus UK public holidays plus your birthdays off
* A top of the market maternity and paternity policy
