Carefree Kids is dedicated to supporting children, helping them feel happy, confident, and valued. We utilize Play Therapy to assist young people in expressing themselves, managing difficult emotions, and building resilience. Our mission is to provide children with the support they need to thrive both today and in the future.
After closing during the pandemic, we are in the process of rebuilding and we are looking for qualified play therapists who can volunteer their time to help us grow again.
Role Description
This is an in-person, Volunteer Play Therapist role, located in the London Area, United Kingdom.
Responsibilities include creating a safe and supportive environment, working closely with children to help them express their feelings and collaborating with other professionals to ensure the best outcomes for the children. Documentation, progress tracking and an enhanced DBS check are also key for this role.
What we are looking for
* Experience in Play Therapy and as a Registered Play Therapist
* Qualified Play Therapists or students in training
* Able to commit to at least one session per week
* Committed to child-led, non-directive, creative therapeutic approaches
* Kind, reliable individuals who can build safe, trusting relationships with children
* Willingness to work in East London primary schools and with children in the nearby area
* Openness to regular supervision and reflective practice
* Strong background in working with children
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
* Ability to work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team
* Experience in a therapeutic setting is a plus
