Assistant Technical Officer-Purchasing (Pharmacy)
The post holder will work in the pharmacy department at Darent Valley Hospital within the Pharmacy Purchasing Office.
Candidates should be enthusiastic, demonstrate innovation, communicate ideas clearly and effectively, and possess competent IT skills.

Main duties of the job
The role is based in our busy purchasing office. Your main responsibility is to assist in the procurement of medicines and support in the dispensary using automated systems like the robot and Omnicell cupboards; full training will be provided. You will liaise with suppliers to order medicines and products essential for patient care. Attention to detail is crucial, as efficient procurement impacts costs, budgets, and the quality of pharmacy services and patient care.
Full training and support will be provided, and you will be required to undertake the Pharmacy Services Assistant Level 2 Apprenticeship program.
Previous experience in procurement or financial processing is desirable, and healthcare experience is an advantage.

Person Specification
Education
* Educated to GCSE level or equivalent
* NVQ (QCF) Level 2 in Pharmacy Service Skills or equivalent
Knowledge
* Ability to work within tight deadlines
Experience
* Teamwork experience
* Experience in an office environment
* Experience with purchase-to-pay processes
* Knowledge of CMM computer programs
