New Directions is looking for teaching assistants interested in working with pupils with additional learning needs (ALN) in Merthyr. We collaborate with various schools, including specialist schools, units for pupils with ALN, and mainstream settings requiring 1:1 support. We offer part-time, long-term, and day-to-day roles.
As an ALN teaching assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting pupils with diverse needs to help them reach their full potential. You will work in primary and secondary settings, providing 1:1 and group support to students.
Responsibilities
* Collaborate with staff to provide tailored support to students with ALN, including those with emotional and behavioural challenges.
* Assist in preparing classrooms for lessons and ensuring learning materials are available.
* Create a stimulating and nurturing environment that motivates and empowers students to succeed.
Requirements
* At least three months of experience working with children or young people in an educational setting.
* Experience or enthusiasm for working with pupils with ALN is preferred.
* Strong interpersonal skills to build relationships with pupils and staff.
* Eligibility to work in the UK.
* Possession of an enhanced child and adult DBS on the update service or willingness to obtain one.
* Registration with the Education Workforce Council.
