The practice is purpose built with some great facilities including operating theatre, 3 dedicated consult rooms, large prep area, x-ray room and isolation block with separate cat and dog kennels.
We are currently a 3 vet practice, who are supported by 4 RVN's, 1 SVN's, 1 PM and 5 Receptionists.
We are a training practice and have a varied work load and perform a full range of orthopaedic and soft tissue surgeries.We are also happy to support all staff members with opportunities for further development once qualified.
This role is full time up to 39 hours per week, with no on call, and 1 in 5 Saturdays (9am-1pm)
Some of your key responsibilities will include:
• Working closely with the clinical and non-clinical teams to deliver the best levels of patient and customer care, taking full ownership of tasks and responsibilities
• Support and guide and drive the nursing team to ensure best patient care levels are achieved.
• Liaise with other members of the team to ensure smooth running of the day.
• First line manager for nursing team including assisting in training and appraisals.
• Greet clients and their pets for appointments, being sensitive to their requirements and promoting a professional image at all times.
• Comply with all policies and procedures within the surgery, including Health and Safety Regulations.
Person Specification
You will have a good experience of veterinary nursing, excellent customer service and communication skills, be an effective team player and able to use your own initiative when required. You are friendly, down-to-earth, have a genuine interest in animal welfare and enjoy the variety provided by the clients and colleagues alike. We support any team members who are interested in developing their skills. An interest in Clinical Coaching/ Supervising and supporting our student nurses would be advantageous (training not essential and will be provided if interested in the future)
