Your role will be pivotal in overseeing the, globally distributed, development team, providing technical leadership, planning and scheduling work and managing expectations.Your deep technical knowledge will enable you to drive quality solutions through the adoption of industry best practices for IFS development. An expert in Agile ways of working, you’ll instigate effective rigour and ceremonies to orchestrate the end-to-end System Development Lifecycle with a particular focus on modern tooling to provide effective metrics and management reporting across the team.Reporting to the Global IT Service Delivery Director (Group & Digital) you’ll need to be proactive and autonomous as you take on a team of, initially, 5 highly skilled developers (IFS and Boomi integration), and build the function from the ground up. You’ll interface closely with functional leads in our business change function and will act as the glue between business needs and developers.Accountabilities
1. Lead and manage the development team in the design, development, and implementation of IFS solutions
2. Collaborate with business stakeholders to gather requirements and translate them into technical specifications
3. Ensure the quality and performance of IFS applications through rigorous testing and validation
4. Provide technical leadership and mentorship to the development team
5. Manage project timelines, budgets, and resources to ensure successful project delivery
6. Stay updated with the latest IFS technologies and industry trends
7. Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues related to IFS applications
8. Conduct regular system reviews and performance assessments
9. Implement and oversee Agile SDLC, backlog prioritisation, quality assurance, change and release management
10. Lead Agile ceremonies (standups, sprint planning, retrospectives, etc)
11. Implement Agile metrics and deliver reporting to a wide range of stakeholders from technical teams to executive leadership
Technical Oversight and Governance
12. Maintain deep technical and functional knowledge of IFS cloud across Finance, HR, P2P & Projects
13. Own backlogs, drive roadmaps and oversee implementation of change
14. Ensure platform security and data integrity, maintaining compliance with internal cyber, data protection and regulatory policies
15. Lead on conformance with internal processes for change management, design authority, etc
Stakeholder Collaboration
16. Build strong relationships between IT and business functions, establishing regular communication forums and aligning application functionality with business objectives
17. Collaborate with the ERP programme team to ensure parity and clarity for implementation approach between project and BAU streams
18. Produce relevant and consistent reporting to demonstrate the workload, outcomes and challenges of the team and allow for effective and responsive prioritisation
Vendor Management
19. Build a collaborative and effective partnership with key suppliers, ensuring timely and high-quality services.
20. Stay appraised of new innovations and ensure that RES is prepared to adopt them from both a technical and functional perspective.
Leadership and Team Management
21. Provide strong and accessible line management to manage performance and support employee wellness and growth
22. Provide hands-on leadership to prioritize, plan, and allocate resources effectively to address customer needs and resolve critical issues.
23. Develop clear and transparent resource plans, corelating demand against capacity, recognising under/over utilisation of resource pool and building justifications for additional resources where appropriate
24. Continuously monitor the overall skills and capabilities of the team, developing resources to support the delivery of the most valuable technologies within the portfolio
25. Mentor and guide a globally distributed team, fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, and innovation
26. Collaborate across multiple time zones to ensure seamless communication and coordination in a global environment
27. Present, support, and lead-by-example with a safety and quality-oriented attitude
28. Collaborates with IT peers and leadership to ensure that IT services are integrated and aligned with the broader IT strategy
29. Participate in strategic planning and contribute to the development of the overall IT strategy
Experience
30. Deep technical experience in IFS development in complex project and/or BAU scenarios.
31. Development team leadership
32. Construction or Utility Industry Experience
Qualifications
33. Management of Information Systems or related or equivalent experience
34. Agile scrum master, project manager, leadership or other relevant Agile certifications and experience
35. Relevant IFS developer certifications and experience
