Hours: 0-15 hours per week, at the same time each week, until end of programme – ensuring the best continuity possible for the young people we work with. Tutoring sessions will be allocated based on matching applicant and student availabilities.
Responsibilities & Duties
* Delivering high‑quality in‑person tutoring sessions in small groups (1‑3 students) using our bespoke English and/or maths resources at partner Further Education/apprenticeship providers.
* Being proactive in developing and improving your tutoring skills through internal workshops and resources, and contributing to the overall development of the charity.
* Maintaining registers for your sessions to ensure attendance and student progress is recorded accurately and is up to date.
* Creating and sharing video reflections of your tutoring to enable feedback and development from Get Further staff.
* 2 full days of paid training prior to starting, delivered by subject specialists.
* 0-15 working hours per week, at the same time each week, matched to your given availability.
* Resources provided for tuition sessions, with full training on how to deliver them effectively.
* Expert training and ongoing development opportunities to build teaching skills through our tutor academy and feedback and reflection cycle.
* Opportunities to take on additional responsibilities such as assessor and tutor brand ambassador to build key transferable skills and further your career.
* Support and advice for pursuing a career in the further education and/or charity sector.
Get Further is an award‑winning charity that supports students from disadvantaged backgrounds to develop the skills they need to progress onto higher‑level courses, apprenticeships, and into the workplace. We partner with colleges and employers to deliver tailored tuition for GCSE and Functional Skills, offering valuable extra support to help students secure gateway qualifications.
Salary: £18 per hour of tuition delivered plus holiday pay (pro‑rated).
