Position Details

Employer: Liverpool City Region Combined Authority – Fixed‑term contract until 31 March 2028. Salary: £33,470‑£35,369 (plus shift allowance and weekend allowance). Hours: 35 per week, evenings, full time, weekends. Location: 1 Mann Island, Liverpool. DBS: Enhanced.


About the Role

The Housing First Practitioner coordinates and provides personalised, trauma‑informed support to individuals with multiple complex needs, helping them maintain tenancies and work towards clear goals. The role involves outreach, supporting clients from rough sleeping to secure accommodation, and delivering flexible, open‑ended step‑up and step‑down packages of support in line with Housing First principles.


Core Responsibilities

* Establish open and trusting relationships with people who are/have been homeless or in temporary/insecure accommodation, and who are experiencing complex issues.
* Support individuals to achieve their goals and outcomes through intensive strength‑based case management, ensuring each individual has a plan of support that includes professional rationales and is led by the individual.
* Enable service users to access community resources, support the removal of barriers to engagement within mainstream services.
* Provide positive support to the individual to improve engagement and give practical and emotional support.
* Develop an enabling partnership approach that supports all people using the service to attain their rights and entitlement.
* Actively identify the strengths, assets and aspirations of individuals and enable, encourage and empower the access to relevant opportunities and/or services.


Qualifications & Essential Criteria

* Understanding and experience of working in a trauma‑informed way and the ability to establish open, trusting relationships whilst working assertively and empathetically with people who have enduring and complex support needs.
* Ability to adapt and work responsively with service users, supporting them to articulate their goals and aspirations.
* Ability to develop working partnerships to gain the most positive outcome for the person you are supporting.
