Role: 12103 – Early Years Practitioner – Level 2/3

Location: Sandwich, Kent

Salary: Up to £26,499 per annum

Contract/Hours: Permanent – Part Time – 15 hours per week -Monday- Friday- 11am- 2pm,

Closing date: Midnight on 5th November

About the nursery

Spring St Barts is an established nursery in Sandwich for over 20 years providing high quality education for children up to the age of 11 across both nursery and out of school setting. The nursery is located in a beautiful grade 2 listed manor house situated within an acre of land, with a Forest School on one of our gardens. We have dedicated Physical Activity and Nutritional coordinator, as well as staff trained in Boogie Mites, providing children learning opportunities through music and movement, and offer Baby Ballet sessions for all ages. We are looking for someone to join our impassioned and supportive team this is a nursery where career progression is supported and encouraged.

About the role

When you join us, you'll be part of a passionate and creative team committed to giving the highest standards of care and education and helping children to find their feet – making friends, having fun and sparking their imaginations through play.

In the role of Early Years Practitioner (Level 2), you'll be allowing the children to explore and discover their own creativity, individuality, and imagination within our bright, engaging and safe environments. It goes without saying that you need to love being around children and will have the ambition to make a direct and positive impact on their young lives.

What you'll be doing   

In the role of Early Years Practitioner (Level 2), you'll be: 

* Working as part of a team creating an environment in which children's individual needs are met and high standards of care are provided.
* Working alongside Level 3 practitioners in supporting children's development, participating, planning and setting up activities for a range of children.
* Developing successful relationships with children and their families.
* Observing and tracking children's development and share this with parent/carers and other professionals.
* Supporting children during mealtimes and toilet training.

What we need from you   

In the role of Early Years Practitioner (Level 2), we're ideally looking for someone who has: 

* Level 2 qualification in Childcare and Education or equivalent. If you already have a Level 3 qualification do also get in touch.
* Safeguarding Level 2 or ability to achieve.
* Experience working in an early year's childcare setting or a setting working with children.
* A thorough current working knowledge of children's emotional, physical, psychological and educational developmental needs from 0 to 5 years.
* A commitment to safer recruitment practices to protect our service users and have an understanding of and commitment to safeguarding best-practice.
