We have two openings for a receptionist position within the organisation.
1 35.25 Hours at Adlington Medical Centre and Eaves Lane Surgery and a second at 31 hours per week with shifts at Croston Medical Centre & Buckshaw Village Surgery
Receive, assist and direct patients in accessing the appropriate serviceor healthcare professional in a courteous, efficient and effective way.
Provide general assistance to the practice team and project a positiveand friendly image to patients and other visitors, either in person or via thetelephone
Main duties of the job
* To have a thorough knowledge of all Practice procedures.
* To work in accordance of written protocols.
* Pulling/filing notes for surgeries and update when required.
* Scanning/Filing post in medical records.
* Fax and photocopy as requested.
* Receiving patients consulting with members of practice team.
* Handing prescriptions requests via telephone and with patients.
* Be able to cover all reception positions as necessary.
* Process appointment requests for today, and future appointments from patients by telephone and in person.
* Deal with visits requests.
* Registrations of new patients computer data entry and medical records.
* Process patients change of address computer data and medical records (have knowledge of practice area.)
* Process repeat prescription request in accordance with practice guidelines.

We comprise of 6 surgeries with our own Primary Care Network Status; Buckshaw Village Surgery, Eaves Lane Surgery, Adlington Medical Centre, Croston Medical Centre and The Village Surgery at Lostock Hall. Our total patient list size is combined at 23,000 and is growing rapidly. We work closely with neighbouring practices as part of a collaborative group to develop innovative primary care service to patient population in excess of 30,000.
We currently employ a total of 85 members of staff; we take pride in working together to deliver the best care for our patients.
The practice is constantly evolving to take advantage of the opportunities arising in the ever-changing NHS, and to find new and better ways of working.

Person Specification
Experience
* Basic knowledge of I.T
* Previous experience in primary care is desired but not essential
