Senior Radiation Physicist Location: Hybrid (regular onsite presence required) Salary: Competitive Role Overview Seeking a Senior Radiation Physicist to support radiological safety, shielding design, and radiation transport analysis within a highly regulated, safety-critical engineering environment. This role focuses on conducting radiological safety assessments, evaluating radiation effects on systems and electronics, supporting shielding design, and providing technical expertise to ensure risks are reduced to ALARP and regulatory requirements. Key Responsibilities Conduct radiological safety assessments and evaluate radiation damage risks to systems and electronic components. Support the design and development of radiation detection systems and associated technologies. Lead or support systems engineering design of primary and secondary radiation shielding solutions. Perform radiation transport modelling and analysis using methods such as point kernel and Monte Carlo calculations. Utilise radiation transport tools such as ATTILA, MCBEND, MCNP, or equivalent software. Provide technical guidance relating to design changes, defects, and engineering modifications to maintain safety standards. Develop and support ALARP justifications to underpin engineering and safety decisions. Contribute to shielding validation, metrology, safety studies, and technical substantiation activities. Produce high-quality technical reports, calcul...
