Applications are invited for the role of Junior Clinical Fellow in Obstetrics and Gynaecology to commence as soon as possible for a period of at least 12 months. The post is primarily based at Burnley General Hospital and the post holder will be required to take part in the first on-call rota, this will include BSOTS triage.
The Lancashire Women’s & Newborn Centre is located on the Burnley General site and we provide satellite clinics across East Lancashire to ensure ease of access for the local population. We provide a full range of clinics in both obstetrics and gynaecology and all senior members of the team have a sub speciality interest. We have an outstanding reputation as a training unit and this appointment offers exciting opportunities to expand your expertise and knowledge within the Obstetrics and Gynaecology departments.
Candidates must have full registration with the GMC and meet all the necessary requirements of the person specification.
Responsibilities will include:
* General Obstetric & Gynaecology duties which will include antenatal clinics, gynaecology clinics, including subspeciality exposure, assisting in obstetric/gynae theatre lists and labour ward/ Maternal assessment unit duties.
* Attending special interest clinics
* Care of in-patients, admissions to the Gynaecology Ward, perioperative care of patients and out-patient clinics (including specialist clinics in oncology, urogynaecology, endometriosis, colposcopy, and ambulatory gynaecology clinics)
* Planning care (supported by the Consultant) for obstetric in-patients, managing Labour Ward and attending Antenatal clinics including specialist clinics
