Job Description:
* Supervising and assisting with maintenance of workshops, preparation of equipment and materials, ensuring efficiency and safety, including writing and reviewing risk assessments.
* Maintaining the Doncaster training fleet, making recommendations for vehicle rotation/destruction, and ensuring vehicles are well maintained.
* Supporting course delivery and ensuring students work safely.
* Assisting with course setup and teardown.
* Developing workshop training aids for technical programs when required.
* Liaising with managers to ensure smooth operation of workshops and stores, reporting issues promptly.
* Ensuring equipment is maintained and minimizing delays due to breakdowns.
* Estimating parts and repairs, and carrying out repairs within workshops when possible.
* Safely storing flammable and dangerous materials and maintaining stock levels.
* Supporting the End Point Assessment (EPA) process with technician duties.
* Keeping work areas clean and safe, following safety procedures.
* Identifying problems related to staff, equipment, or materials and resolving or escalating them.
* Conducting stock checks and assisting with inventory management.
* Performing general maintenance in workshops and training facilities.
* Serving as an onsite First Aider.
* Delivering and assessing Hybrid & Electric Vehicle Level 3 IMI qualification.
* Hosting weekly staff meetings on site, discussing health & safety activities, and liaising with the Site Facilities Manager.
* Being a designated onsite security person (PRS) with key holding responsibilities.
* Supporting asset management tasks with the Site Facilities Manager.
* Performing any other tasks as required.
Qualifications:
* Level 3 Automotive qualification, preferably with light vehicle specialization.
* First Aid qualification or willingness to obtain one.
* Level 2 qualification in English & Math (GCSE or equivalent) is desirable.
* Hybrid & Electric Vehicle Level 3 qualification or higher.
* Formal health & safety training or willingness to undertake within 12 months.
* Contributing ideas to improve business processes.
* Taking ownership of queries and working collaboratively.
* Effective communication at all levels.
* Being determined, energetic, and flexible.
