Job Description
Teach assigned classes, groups, or individuals.
Maintain classroom discipline and promote positive behaviour.
Ensure pupil health and safety.
Assist with the development and implementation of effective identification and assessment procedures for pupils with additional support needs.
Develop or contribute to the development of teaching and assessment materials, with particular reference to pupils with additional support needs.
Use assessment results to evaluate and improve teaching, learning, and pupils' attainment.
Set and maintain targets for pupils as appropriate.
Contribute to the preparation of pupils for internal and external assessments.
Assist with the administration of assessments.
Meet with parents/carers to review pupil progress and support needs.
Contribute to the effective running of the stage/curricular area/subject or department.
Participate in improvement planning, evaluation, and quality assurance processes.
Plan, prepare, and record work for pupils, both individually and with class teachers.
Advise and guide pupils on educational issues.
Report and discuss pupils' progress with parents and relevant statutory bodies.
Assist in delivering therapeutic activities for pupils.
Identify and evaluate resources suitable for meeting individual pupils' needs.
Consult and advise on developing individualised educational programmes and legislative obligations related to additional support needs.
The Individual
Membership of the Protecting Vulnerable Groups Scheme (PVG) is required for this post.
Applications will also be considered from provisionally registered applicants who can take up unpromoted permanent positions on a temporary basis.
