Housekeeper (Maternity Cover)
Position: Housekeeper (Maternity Cover June 26 – March 27, 2027). Ward 3 is a 16‑bed stroke rehabilitation ward.
Closing date: 23 June 2026.
We are looking for a motivated and enthusiastic housekeeper to join our multidisciplinary team and maintain a clean, safe, and comfortable environment for patients, visitors, and staff.
Main Duties
* Work under the supervision of the Ward Manager/Registered Nurse as part of the ward team to maintain cleanliness and safety.
* Serve patient meals and hot/cold beverages at scheduled times, adhering to food hygiene regulations.
* Assist with feeding patients as directed by nursing staff.
* Monitor and maintain high standards of cleaning and hygiene in the ward kitchen, including the fridge and microwave, and in treatment/stock/staff rooms; discard out‑of‑date food and rotate stock.
Qualifications
* Good standard of general education.
* NVQ 1 in hotel services/food service or equivalent.
Experience
* Previous experience in a customer service/caring environment.
* Experience of housekeeping/domestic duties.
* Acute hospital work.
* Health care work.
Knowledge
* Basic food hygiene.
* Infection prevention.
* Knowledge of cleaning/COSHH.
* Knowledge of systems and processes (e.g. manual handling, fire safety).

* Effective communication and interpersonal skills (written & verbal).
