Job Title: Primary Teacher - Maternity Cover
Location: Lamledge School, Shifnal TF11 8SD
Salary: Up to £40,000 per annum depending on experience (not pro rata)
Hours: 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday
Contract: Fixed-Term, Term Time Only
Start: January 2026

We are part of a 4-Day Working Week (4DWW) trial, where you can work one day less each week (or equivalent hours) while receiving full-time pay. This approach is being rolled out across several schools and may be in place or forthcoming at Lamledge School.
We are seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated Primary SEND Teacher (Maternity Cover) to join our team at Lamledge School in Shifnal.
About The Role: delivering a highly personalised and therapeutic curriculum to pupils with a range of special educational needs, including SEMH, autism, and related developmental differences. You will tailor lessons to each pupil’s EHCP and developmental level with a focus on engagement, emotional wellbeing, and academic progress. The role suits a calm, resilient, and innovative teacher committed to helping every child reach their potential.
Responsibilities
* Deliver high-quality teaching to pupils (ages 7 and up) across EYFS through KS2 levels.
* Plan and deliver lessons across the core curriculum, tailored to individual needs and abilities.
* Track and evidence student work and monitor progress; provide regular marking and constructive feedback.
* Manage individual student timetables to meet needs.
* Draft, update, and review Individual Learning Plans (ILPs) in collaboration with the team.
* Attend EHCP annual reviews and prepare progress reports.
* Collaborate with support staff, therapists, and parents/carers to provide a joined-up approach.
* Undertake additional duties as required by the Head of School.
Qualifications
* UK Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
* Strong understanding of the primary curriculum with experience teaching pupils across EYFS to KS2.
* Experience delivering teaching across developmental levels and using a range of engaging teaching strategies.
* Commitment to pupil voice, safety, and wellbeing; adaptable, organized, and a team player with excellent communication skills.
