What skills and experience we're looking for King Edward VI School Lichfield is seeking an enthusiastic and talented Science Teacher (Chemistry specialist) to join our high-performing successful Department which currently has an additional 3 Chemistry specialist teachers. As a teacher you will teach Science across the age and ability range and specialise at Key Stage 4 and 5. Science is popular and successful from Key Stage 3 through to our thriving, successful Sixth Form. In 2025, almost 80% of Year 11 students achieved at least two GCSE science grades at 9-4 and around 40% of the cohort takes the Triple Science pathway. Results are very strong at GCSE in both Separate Sciences and Combined Science. We have a strong uptake for A-level, with multiple groups for all sciences in both Year 12 & 13. We also teach a successful Level 3 Diploma in Medical Science. We are looking for a teacher with infectious enthusiasm, excellent communication skills alongside the ability to develop and maintain positive relationships with students, colleagues and parents. We expect the successful candidate to show a passion for their subject, work as part of a team and be willing to participate in all aspects of school life.
