Technology Resilience and Cyber (TRC) - At a time of rapid technological change, evolving regulation to strengthen operational resilience and growing cyber risks, this role offers a unique opportunity to shape both the FCA’s and the industry’s approach to these challenges. You’ll contribute to work that serves the public interest, with a focus on enhancing the operational resilience of the financial sector — helping to ensure that markets remain fair, safe and effective for everyone
What will you be doing?
* Provide technical expertise and advice on technology and cyber resilience across regulated firms, primarily within the Insurance and Retail financial sectors, supporting frontline FCA supervisors
* Act as a subject matter expert (SME) for operational resilience across your team, the wider department and the FCA
* Lead or support the assessment of high-impact firms, offering evidence-based, forward-looking insights on their technology, resilience and cyber capabilities
* Contribute to the strategic analysis of incidents such as cyber-attacks or technology disruptions, helping shape regulatory responses
* Deliver and support thematic work, taking ownership of key initiatives and collaborating with colleagues and stakeholders to drive delivery
* Engage with external stakeholders, including other authorities and senior firm representatives and perform peer comparisons to evaluate firms' resilience maturity across the sector

Minimum
* Experience working on operational and/or cyber resilience topics within the financial services sector.
* Proven ability to analyse complex information and present clear, well-informed recommendations related to technology and/or cyber resilience.
* The successful candidate will either hold or be required to obtain Security Clearance (SC) as part of the role.
Essential
* Demonstrated ability to support and encourage colleagues, contributing to a positive and collaborative team environment.
* Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to convey information clearly and effectively to a range of audiences.
* Awareness of or exposure to, technology and cyber standards and guidance relevant to financial services practices.
* Knowledge or experience of the Retail or Insurance markets, with an understanding of key sector dynamics.
* Proven analytical skills, applying sound judgement and attention to detail to deliver consistently high-quality work.
