Lead Advanced Practice Physiotherapist (APP) - Musculoskeletal (MSK)
We are offering an exciting opportunity for an experienced Advanced Physiotherapy Practitioner (APP) to join and help lead our innovative, AHP led Musculoskeletal Pathway.
We're seeking an APP with:
* Proven competencies in multi-joint assessment, including spinal and shoulder presentations.
* Previous experience working as an APP within an NHS organisation.
* A passion for high quality MSK care and service improvement.

As a senior clinician, you will play a pivotal part in driving service quality, clinical excellence, and patient outcomes. This is a chance to influence how MSK care is delivered, while working within a supportive, forward-thinking multidisciplinary environment.
* Lead and support the smooth running of MSK clinics.
* Ensure accurate reporting and monitoring of key performance indicators.
* Work closely with management colleagues to review and benchmark the current service.
* Shape and recommend a future service model that enhances clinical quality and improves patient outcomes.

Job responsibilities
Acts as lead APP within MSK taking an expert lead role using expert knowledge and skills in the assessment and management of complex musculoskeletal (MSK) and orthopaedic presentations. To lead relevant clinic within MSK service without consultant supervision. Some remote working may be considered.
* Work as an expert autonomous practitioner in an advanced clinical position. Responsible for triaging musculoskeletal referrals, and for the advanced assessment including referral for appropriate investigations, to accurately diagnose, and then plan further management and treatment of musculoskeletal and orthopaedic conditions. Refer / book for defined operative procedures and support the surgical waiting list.
* Responsible for managing orthopaedic MSK pathway. Monitor and address capacity to meet demand within service, both short term (e.g. balancing clinic capacity) and long term (succession planning in line with KPIs and RTT).
* Provide clinical leadership within the Orthopaedic / MSK Clinics to Advanced Physiotherapy Practitioners, ensuring high standards of evidence based clinical practice.
* Lead clinical pathway improvements across the system.
Person Specification
Qualifications
* HCPC registered
* Member of the Chartered Society of Physiotherapists
* Degree or equivalent in Physiotherapy
* MSc in relevant area or equivalent skills
* Member of specific interest group
Knowledge & Experience
* Advanced skills equivalent to masters level
* Significant and recent experience at APP clinical level in multiple joints including shoulders and spinal
* Experience of working as an APP in NHS Organisation
* Evidence to support knowledge base in specialist/advanced area
* Evidence of Advanced practice competency and continuous professional development
* Experience of performance monitoring of services and service improvement
* Multiprofessional leadership
* Supervisory/mentoring of post graduate students and qualified therapists
* Clinical audit/analysis based on sound understanding of principals
* Teaching and presentation skills to a range of people, including clinicians and managers
* Experience of data analysis and interpretation, including collation into clear report structure
* Good ability to use a variety of computer systems and programmes

£59,798 to £67,020 a year (per annum) includes high cost area supplements (HCAS).
