Role Overview
This is an exciting opportunity for a Nurse or Midwife looking towards a career in education with a multi‑faceted role including pre‑registration, apprenticeships and preceptorship. A recognised teaching qualification is essential, as there will be a requirement to deliver training covering all aspects of these elements. You will need a problem‑solving approach and the ability to deal with sensitive and complex situations with urgency and discretion, often with little notice.
The Practice Experience Facilitator will promote a proactive approach to education, learning and maintaining the highest standards of practice education and clinical practice within North Tees & Hartlepool NHS Foundation Trust.
Volunteer must be highly flexible in terms of working arrangements; set working days cannot be guaranteed. The post holder may be required to work at any site across both Trusts.
Key responsibilities
* Provide expert level advice and support for all learners in practice, and those who support those learners.
* Ensure placement capacity and increase where possible to provide a valuable learning experience for all learners.
* Develop new ways of learning and placement models to provide a positive learning experience.
* Promote development that maintains excellent standards of clinical practice, multidisciplinary team working, effective communication, optimal patient safety and robust infection control practices.
* Collaboratively provide support for all team activities by understanding the roles of the other team members.
* Act as the link between the Trust and universities, further education colleges and higher educational institutes for communication.
* Plan, design and deliver teaching within the clinical areas.
* Support Trust‑wide adherence to corporate patient safety strategies and critically appraise new and changing models and policies.
* Maintain own professional development and clinical skills through practice in accordance with the NMC Code of Conduct.
Key qualifications and attributes
* Recognised teaching qualification.

* Experience in pre‑registration nursing, midwifery and paramedic education, or in supporting learners in practice.

* Strong communication skills and ability to work with diverse stakeholders.

* Problem‑solving mindset and ability to handle sensitive and complex situations with urgency and discretion.
* Willingness to work across multiple sites and adapt to changing work arrangements.
