Full Job Description
We are looking for an experienced design engineer who will ensure technical compliance and enhance the overall service provided by Woodford. The engineer will ensure Woodford remains competitive through correct product selection and maintaining high installation standards. The role involves ensuring that design projects are delivered to specification and comply with industry regulations and legislation.
This position is based in our office in Loughton, with a hybrid working policy. Key duties include:
1. Knowledge of RIBA stages.
2. Involvement in technical aspects of installation, such as site inspections.
3. Working with project managers to ensure installation compliance with design and specifications.
4. Reviewing consultant designs and calculations for design and build projects.
5. Advising the estimating department on technical compliance and value engineering.
6. Attending client and Woodford design team meetings on design and build projects.
7. Collaborating with procurement to ensure correct product supply and technical submissions.
8. Reviewing new products on the market.
9. Attending client pre-start meetings to demonstrate technical and professional abilities.
10. Reviewing quotations for compliance with specifications and drawings.
11. Ensuring statutory and regulatory compliance, submitting to authorities, and obtaining approvals.
12. Keeping the design team informed of all technical information throughout the project.
13. Reviewing design information and ensuring calculations meet standards and codes.
14. Representing Woodford at meetings during design and construction phases.
15. Reviewing commissioning reports for compliance.
16. Preparing 'As installed' drawings for CAD.
17. Controlling production aspects of projects in the office.
18. Working accurately, independently, and efficiently, taking ownership of projects.
19. Communicating effectively and working as part of a team.
