The role

Senior Residential Activity Worker. Based in Maer, ST5. Must hold a full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle. Salary £14.95–£15.55 per hour. 39 hours per week on a rota of 4 consecutive days followed by 7 days off, then 3 consecutive days followed by another 7 days off. Shift may include sleep‑ins.

Key Responsibilities and Requirements

  • Plan and deliver adventurous outdoor activities to promote confidence, resilience and personal growth for young people aged 8‑18.
  • Build and maintain positive relationships, supporting daily routines and emotional development.
  • Supervise accurate completion of children’s documentation and maintain compliance with Ofsted standards.
  • Monitor financial records, submit expenses at shift end.
  • Uphold safeguarding and risk‑management standards, implement risk assessment actions.
  • Lead and mentor staff, providing formal supervision and supporting professional development.
  • Ensure smooth shift operations, meet care objectives, report safeguarding concerns, maintain high quality standards.
  • Facilitate thorough handovers and debriefs for continuity.

Qualifications

  • NVQ/QCF Level 3 or higher in Residential Childcare or Health & Social Care.
  • Full UK driving licence, vehicle access.
  • Right to work in the UK.
  • Minimum age 21.
  • Commitment to 39 hours per week and shift pattern including sleep‑ins.
