NHS 111 Health Advisor Part Time Nights – Otterbourne
Job Summary
We are looking for an enthusiastic and compassionate NHS 111 Health Advisor to work part‑time night shifts. The role requires emotional resilience, calm communication and the ability to support callers in a high‑pressure environment. This is an office‑based position at our Otterbourne location: remote or home working is not available.
Key Responsibilities
* Support callers experiencing a mental health crisis, minor head injuries, sore throats, toothaches, or acute medical emergencies such as stroke or heart attack.
* Use NHS Pathways and telephone triage systems to assess patient needs and provide appropriate care instructions.
* Maintain accurate and detailed clinical records in line with NHS standards.
* Participate in a full six‑week training programme and ongoing professional development.
Essential Qualifications & Experience
* Good all‑round education (e.g., 2 GCSEs at grade 4 or above including English) or equivalent relevant experience.
* Experience in a customer or patient services environment, using computerised systems and telephone communication.
* At least 18 years of age and able to provide an up‑to‑date Disclosure and Barring Service check.
* Good organisational and communication skills.
Desirable Qualifications & Experience
* NHS Pathways trained.
* NVQ 2/3 Customer Services or equivalent experience.
* Experience working rotating shifts, call‑centre environment, voluntary or health sector, patient care, first aid or anatomy knowledge.
Remuneration and Benefits
* £24,937 – £26,598 per annum, pro‑rate for part‑time.
* Competitive hourly rate of £12.79 / hour with 35% overtime for midnight‑to‑midnight shifts and 69% on Sunday/public holidays.
* 27 days holiday plus public holidays, rising to 33 days pro‑rate.
