We are seeking a Production Controller to join the production team at TMI. As Production Controller, you will own the TMI depot and maintenance plan for a rolling 7 days, keeping the plan current and updated based on operational changes. You will be responsible for the creation of maintenance work packages ensuring compliance and safety of set release from the depot.
This role is offered on a permanent basis at Temple Mills and is under the RFJ salary scale.
We are looking for someone to be:
1. Responsible for assessing the capacity and capability of the TMI depot to deliver within a 7 day window.
2. Responsible for ensuring each trainset leaving TMI is compliant with established maintenance and safety standards and any non-conformance is communicated to relevant parties.
3. Responsible for the release to service of each train to the Fleet Management Team, once all maintenance work has been performed in accordance with the maintenance documentation.
4. Allocating traction and rolling stock to diagrams to meet the requirements of the working timetable, managing the transfer of stock, as required to maintain fleet balance in conjunction with Fleet Planning, depot partners and Operations.
5. Pre-shift planning and preparation for all work entering TMI before handover to Production Teams via the Shift Production Manager (SPM).
6. Production and upkeep changes to the TMI depot and Maintenance Plan (in week) from internal and external parties and adjusting the plans as required.
7. Monitor and audit the data that is inputted to the Computerised Maintenance Management System and any non – conformances are investigated, and corrective action applied within the areas of responsibility.
8. Raise, amend, remove and communicate operational restrictions for Rolling Stock
9. Support and deputise for the Depot Scheduling Manager as required.
Requirements
You will need:
Essential
10. Sound knowledge of railway operating procedures & maintenance planning and scheduling processes and practices.
11. Ability to look for performance opportunities to simplify and streamline the business.
12. Strong understanding of the purpose of maintenance and its obligations to the rolling stock Health & safety standards.
13. A good appreciation of IT systems and system development, Intermediate/Advanced Excel skills.
14. Excellent communication skills, with an ability to influence at all levels across internal teams to ensure an uninterrupted service is delivered.
15. Accepts new ideas and change initiatives, adapt own style accordingly.
16. Resilient, maintains a positive outlook, with a proven ability to manage effectively under pressure and make decisions in a dynamic environment.
17. Takes initiative, acts with confidence and works under own direction, when required.
18. Ideally engineering background with completed QCF Level 3 apprenticeship or equivalent
Desirable
19. Experience of our examination structure, rolling stock defect management and Equinox visit management would be highly beneficial
