Our client is building something genuinely exciting in the DB pensions space — a fast‑moving start‑up operating at the intersection of Superfund solutions and Bulk Annuity pricing. This is a chance to get involved early, helping shape how pension risk is priced, structured, and delivered in a growing and highly innovative market.
This role offers a strong mix of modelling, valuations, and pricing development work, with real ownership rather than just model maintenance. You’ll be working across complex defined benefit pension schemes, developing and refining cashflow models, and helping design robust pricing frameworks that will directly influence transaction decisions.
What you’ll be doing:
* Building and enhancing cashflow and valuation models for DB pension schemes
* Supporting and developing pricing approaches for pension risk transfer and Superfund‑style solutions
* Working closely with complex benefit structures and scheme data to assess liabilities and risk
* Improving existing models and contributing to the development of new pricing methodology
* Collaborating with senior actuaries and wider deal/pricing teams on live transactions and strategic initiatives
What we’re looking for:
* Strong DB pensions experience, ideally from a valuation or modelling background
* Solid actuarial progress (senior student level or equivalent exam progression)
* Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills with attention to detail
* An interest in pricing, risk transfer, or bulk annuity style work (experience is helpful but not essential)
* Comfortable working in a collaborative, fast‑paced and evolving environment
Why this role
This is a great opportunity to move beyond standard valuation work and get closer to real‑world pricing decisions in the pension risk transfer market. You’ll be joining a collaborative, forward‑thinking team where your input will genuinely shape how deals are priced and structured.
If you’re interested in building something new in the Superfund and DB risk transfer space, this is a strong opportunity to do so.
