Job Description
This role can be remote, depending on your location.
To be part of a team responsible for providing Database and Application services to Local Government, Health and Digital clients and the management of associated 3rd parties providing technical support for applications provided by NECSWS.
To provide a high-quality Incident, Change, and Problem Management service to a large portfolio of clients covering a wide variety of hosting services. Working with contracted SLAs and delivering best-in-class services.
The primary functions will be to provide database/application administration and support as and when required.
1. Management of Oracle, SQL Server, and Postgres Databases.
2. Administration of applications.
3. Providing DBA and Application support services.
4. Setup, management, and support of databases and applications.
5. Producing standard documentation and procedures.
6. Problem management, working to eliminate repeat incidents.
7. Ensure compliance with NEC quality standards.
8. Available to work and operate within call-out structure for out-of-hours and some weekend working requirements - this will be 7 days 1 in 4 weeks - just to be available on standby.
Qualifications
Essential
9. Previous experience with Oracle 19c+ SQL Server 2019+
10. Database administration, upgrades, performance tuning and backup/recovery.
11. An ability to provide application services, upgrades, and administration.
12. An understanding of platform technology.
13. Experience with Postgres 11+ would be beneficial
14. Will need to be eligible for NPPV and Security Clearance
15. Strong interpersonal/team skills.
16. Analytical and organised.

18. An adaptable attitude, wanting to provide a good service.
19. Good communication and client facing/customer service skills.
20. Stress Tolerance
21. Self-motivation
22. Full, current driving licence
Desirable
23. Oracle Accreditation.

27. ITIL Practitioner.
28. Be technically aware of technology outside your remit.
29. Familiarity with local government back-office applications.
