The Role
We're looking for an ambitious Industrial Control Systems 2nd Engineer to join our team. This is a brand-new role that offers long term development and genuine autonomy to become a technical expert on Operational Technology (OT) assets and plant control systems (T3000, GE MkVI, MkVIe, ABB 800XA, Siemens S7) at Spalding Power Station.
This role has been created as a key role to support our Lead ICS Engineer in the safe, reliable management of the plant. There will be a special focus on industrial control systems and OT cyber security, where you'll be instrumental in helping to ensure these are engineered and maintained to meet our current operational demands and are flexible to the future business needs. You'll have the opportunity to work hands on with critical control systems while contributing to long term engineering, maintenance, and cyber security strategies. You'll help shape how the plant operates now and for the future.

What you'll be doing
* Supporting the management of all mechanical engineering assets, including steam and gas turbines, generators, HRSG, pressure systems, gas pipelines, and associated balance of plant equipment
* Act as a site technical specialist for Operational Technology (OT) and Industrial Control Systems (ICS), including DCS, PLC, and server-based control systems (e.g. T3000, GE MkVI/MkVIe, ABB 800xA, Siemens S7).
* Support OT lifecycle management, including upgrades, obsolescence, spares strategy, and CAPEX planning.
* Support the design, implementation, and ongoing management of OT cyber security arrangements in line with regulatory, company, and industry standards.
* Manage OT and cyber risk through system lifecycle analysis, threat and vulnerability identification, remediation, and reporting.
* Plan and support C&I maintenance and engineering projects, including outage activities, in both hands-on and supervisory capacities.
* Work closely with Operations and Maintenance teams to investigate plant issues and implement robust engineering solutions.
* Support alarm management and continuous improvement initiatives to optimise plant operability.
* Provide cover for the Lead ICS Engineer as required.

You're experience in managing industrial OT environments, including Distributed Control Systems, server-based control systems, virtualised environments, DMZs, SCADA, and PLC-based systems - experience with specific plant systems is beneficial but not essential. You'll be used to interpreting and producing PLC, DCS, and SCADA codes and logic, along with experience in OT management programmes in areas like cyber security, obsolescence, alarm management, and functional safety.

Education/Experience
Minimum of HND in C&I or Electrical/Electronic Engineering discipline with a high level of practical Operational/Maintenance experience/knowledge. (Qualifications below this may be acceptable if accompanied by suitable industry experience or other relevant qualifications).
* You'll have worked with OT security solutions and have experience of operating within regulatory frameworks such as the NIS Directive or the NCSC Cyber Assessment Framework.
* Practical knowledge of ISA/IEC 62443 standards would be highly beneficial.
* A solid understanding of safety standards is essential, and qualifications such as NEBOSH or IOSH would be preferred.
