Salary £40K - £46K per annum dependent upon experience

How you’ll help us make health happen:
The Buyer is accountable for their specific category, with responsibility to ensure products and services are sourced competitively and cost effectively which includes identifying and delivering cost savings.
In addition, the job holder will:
1. Develop and maintains a comprehensive category/purchasing plan which has a clear savings/opportunity pipeline.
2. Establish or follows category prioritises based on benefits and opportunities and business requirements
3. Actively set, lead and drive the timeline for sourcing initiatives.
4. Lead contract negotiations on behalf of the organisation and develop negotiation plans.
5. Develop innovative solutions by challenging the status quo and business requirements.
6. Interface with stakeholders to ensure requirements are understood.
7. Actively contribute to meetings and at events and is a Procurement advocate, positively raising the profile of Procurement throughout the organisation.
8. Maintains commercial confidentiality and conduct supplier relationships with the highest standard of ethical conduct.
Key Skills / Qualifications needed for this role:
9. Ideally holds a Graduate Degree
10. Desirable MCIPS qualified or is studying towards this qualification
11. Sourcing experience and expertise
12. Experience of delivering savings through driving sourcing and category procurement activities
13. Excellent communication skills
14. Comprehensive experience of working closely with internal stakeholders to ensure a successful commercial outcome
