Overview
Are you currently working in a community or acute Midwifery environment and looking for a change? We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Named Midwife to join our current multidisciplinary Safeguarding team within the Trust. This is an opportunity to join the safeguarding hub as an experienced safeguarding Midwife.
Responsibilities
* Lead the provision of a robust safeguarding service in relation to Maternity care across the Darent Valley and Queen Mary’s Sidcup Hospital sites, and community settings.
* Lead and coordinate safeguarding and the promotion of the welfare of women, birthing people, and their babies within the Trust and across a multi‑agency arena.
* Act as a source of safeguarding expertise for all staff, including provision of statutory and mandatory training.
* Identify vulnerable service users and advise the Trust on risk management and safeguarding in relation to Maternity care.
* Work collaboratively within the safeguarding hub, offering advice and expertise to other safeguarding professionals.
About the Team and Approach
The safeguarding teams work collaboratively in a single hub that encompasses CYP, maternity and adult safeguarding teams, alongside mental health and learning disability nurses.
