Job Description
You’ll work closely with experienced early years professionals at our Finkley Weeke Nursery, gaining hands-on skills in childcare, child development, and safeguarding.
Day-to-Day Responsibilities
* Ensure the completion of your apprenticeship with support from your mentor as needed.
* Develop and maintain an educational play framework in line with the EYFS, supporting children to be safe while having fun.
* Observe and support children’s learning.
* Take responsibility for allocated “key children” within pre-agreed timescales.
* Maintain professional working relationships with team members, advisory teachers, and visiting agencies.
* Use initiative to develop and improve both the children’s experiences and the setting.
* Follow nursery procedures and policies.
* Be flexible within the setting's working practices, including domestic duties such as snack preparation and cleaning.
* Participate in out-of-hours activities like training, staff meetings, fundraising, and social events.
* Identify opportunities to utilize your skills and contribute to the nursery’s development post-apprenticeship.
* Maintain confidentiality at all times.

Training
Paragon Skills is a leading national apprenticeship training provider supporting over 4,000 learners. It has a Grade 2 (Good) Ofsted rating and an achievement rate of 71.4%. Learners are supported by a dedicated Personal Tutor, with 20% of working hours allocated to study, to maximize success. Completing this 12-month apprenticeship results in an Early Years Practitioner – Level 2 qualification.
