Principal Air Quality Consultant
Location: London (Hybrid)
Salary: £50,000 - £65,000 + Benefits
A leading environmental consultancy is looking for an experienced Principal Air Quality Consultant to join its expanding London team. This is a key opportunity for a senior professional to take on both a technical and strategic leadership role, managing major air quality projects and helping to drive the continued growth of the business across London and the UK.
The Role
As a Principal Air Quality Consultant, you'll lead the delivery of complex air quality assessments and emissions modelling projects across sectors including infrastructure, urban development, transport, and energy.
Working on a hybrid basis, you'll split your time between the London office and home, contributing to the development of the consultancy's air quality services across the South East and nationally.
Key Responsibilities
Lead and manage the delivery of air quality consultancy and emissions modelling projects.
Oversee technical work, including dispersion modelling (ADMS, AERMOD) and technical report reviews.
Produce and sign off Environmental Statement chapters and related technical documentation.
Build and maintain strong client relationships, supporting business development initiatives.
Mentor and support junior consultants within the London team.
Represent the consultancy at meetings with clients, regulators, and planning authorities.
About You
Minimum 6+ years' experience in air quality consultancy or regulation.
Excellent understanding of IAQM/EPUK guidance and relevant environmental regulations.
Degree in Environmental Science, Chemistry, Geography, or a related discipline.
Chartered status (CEnv or IAQM) preferred.
Proven leadership, communication, and project management abilities.
Full UK driving licence.
