Teaching Personnel are currently seeking a caring, creative, and dedicated Year 1 Class Teacher to work across a selection of welcoming primary schools in the North and East Sheffield area. This position is ideal for an experienced KS1 practitioner or a confident ECT who has a passion for early learning and child-centred teaching.
The Role
As a Year 1 Class Teacher, you will:
Deliver engaging and differentiated lessons aligned with the KS1 curriculum
Create a warm, nurturing classroom environment that supports early learning
Develop pupils’ phonics, early literacy, and numeracy skills
Use assessment to track progress and inform planning
Work effectively with teaching assistants, SEN support, and parents
Contribute positively to the wider school community
What We’re Looking For
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
Strong knowledge of the KS1 curriculum, particularly Year 1 expectations
Experience delivering high-quality phonics teaching (Little Wandle, Read Write Inc, or similar is desirable)
Excellent communication and classroom management skills
A nurturing, patient, and enthusiastic teaching style
